The CRMF (Customs Risk Management Framework) aims to provide:

quivalent protection at customs controls for the entire European Union

Harmonized implementation of customs controls by Member States

A common approach to setting priorities and allocating resources

An appropriate balance between customs controls and legal trade facilitation

How does Customs Risk Management work?

Customs Risk Management is carried out under 5 main headings;

Identification and control of high-risk goods movements using common risk criteria,

Priority control areas are determined and subjected to more intensive controls for a certain period of time,

A systematic and intensive exchange of risk information (CRMS) is made between customs through the Customs Risk Management System,

With the contribution of Authorized Economic Operators (AEO), legal trade is secured and facilitated in a customs-trade partnership,

The pre-arrival/pre-departure security risk analysis is based on the cargo information submitted between the parties and in electronic format before the goods enter or leave the EU, especially to meet the security and safety risks.
