WHAT IS ROAD TRANSPORTATION AND WHAT ARE ITS TYPES?
There are many types of road transportation. The most commonly used of these is partial road transportation. In partial road transportation, orders of more than one customer can be delivered by the same vehicle. Shipments of customers on the same route are loaded onto a single vehicle and all customer goods are delivered one by one by following the route. This method usually involves transportation by trucks and trailers.
The second most commonly used method in road transportation is combined transportation. In intermodal transportation, the load is transported by one or more vehicles. The container loaded on the vehicle is transferred from one vehicle to another without unloading, and the transportation takes place without human contact, ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the goods. This method allows for the integrated transportation of various modes of transport such as air, sea and road, which means time and cost savings.
There are also types that take the road transportation system to completely different dimensions. Ro-ro transportation can also be presented as a type of road transportation. Ro-ro transportation refers to vehicles that carry out road transportation and travel a certain part of the journey by sea vessels. In addition, there are many different types of road transport such as boxed vehicle transportation, freight project cargo transportation, full export and import transshipment arrangement, regular group goods export and import transshipment arrangement, transit transportation, suspended transportation.
