Direct Patient Home Delivery is a type of decentralized clinical trial in which some aspects of the trial are conducted outside of the investigator's location (eg, patient's home, workplace, travel destination).

In clinical trials, the Direct to Patient model allows drug treatments to be administered and administered at the patient's home and/or the collection and removal of biological samples from the patient's home. Depending on the complexity of trial protocols, patients may take medications themselves or rely on a home care nurse or caregiver for clinical support. Because the Direct to Patient model allows the patient to participate in a clinical trial from home, it reduces the need for the patient to travel to the investigator's location, increases the likelihood of agreeing to participate, and reduces the likelihood of dropout.
